5th Dianalund International Conference on Epilepsy, 7-8 April, 2022
Emne: Implementing Epilepsy Genetics In Clinical Practice
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to join the upcoming 5th Dianalund International Conference on Epilepsy, on April 7-8, 2022 in Korsør, Denmark.
The meeting will be on “Implementing Epilepsy Genetics in Clinical Practice”
The program and registration form can be found at: https://www.conferencemanager.dk/dice2022
Genetic testing has become a more and more essential part of the clinical practice in epilepsy. In this conference, we intend to discuss the current role of genetics in areas of clinical practice where a debate is still ongoing, and in which further knowledge is necessary. We will discuss the yields of genetic testing in adult epilepsy patients, and how this diagnostic tool can lead to better management, and be relevant in the transition from pediatric to adult care. The methodology necessary to perform clinical studies in rare conditions, and how these studies in limited cohorts of subjects can be crucial for the development of targeted drugs will be illustrated. Moreover, the role in this endeavor of patients’ associations, international epilepsy networks and registries will be debated. Finally, the evidences suggesting that genetics can have an impact in selecting epilepsy surgery candidates and can inform on post-surgical prognosis will be presented.
We encourage all participants to contribute to the program by submitting abstracts for posters or oral presentations. The program includes a “molecular therapeutic board” where case reports or small patient series of innovative treatment approaches, submitted by the attendees, will be presented. Ten abstracts will be selected for platform presentations. In addition, five abstracts presenting original research will be selected for oral presentations at the “Late Breaking News” session.
Abstracts (up to 250 words) should be send to genetics@filadelfia.dk before February 21, 2022.
We hope that you’ll be able to join us, and we are looking forward welcoming you in Denmark.
Best regards from the scientific committee
