Swedish Epilepsy Society Autumn meeting in Lund, 14-15 November “Sleep and Epilepsy”

af Gitte Bramstorp

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to extend an invitation to you and your members to join us for the annual autumn course organized by the Swedish Epilepsy Society.

The aim of the course is to increase understanding of the relationship between epilepsy and sleep, offering insights into their impacts on cognition, diagnosis, and treatment. Held in Lund on November 14-15, this event will feature renowned international and national speakers presenting cutting-edge research and clinical knowledge. Key topics include the differentiation of epilepsy from parasomnias, the effects of antiepileptic medications on sleep, and the interaction between circadian rhythms and seizure activity. Attendees will also explore how cerebral hyperexcitability in neurodegeneration impacts diagnostics and therapy, as well as the interplay between interictal discharges and brain slow waves. We are also pleased to welcome poster submissions on ongoing research projects or quality improvement work related to epilepsy. The program will mainly be in english. Below, you will find the registration link, contact information, and a preliminary program.

We look forward to welcoming participants from across Scandinavia!

Kind regards,
The Swedish Epilepsy Society
